European Literacy and Citizenship Education

with No Comments

The development of nationalistic viewpoints and the overall decline in interest for the original European project show a need for an input in European literacy and intercultural, inclusive, approaches.

The Elicit+ project -European Literacy and Citizenship Education+- which lasted for 3 years (2014-2017) took over and capitalized from a previous ELICIT project. The first ELICIT project elaborated two major documents: a Common framework of Competences for the development of European Literacy and Citizenship and a Portfolio of the European Citizen, available in 10 EU languages on our website, http://www.elicitplus.eu

Taking up on the results of the first project, ELICIT+ brought together a partnership of 23 organizations from 12 different EU countries with a view to designing and implementing training courses for teachers, school-heads, parents and all educational staff interested in the education of the European Citizen. During the course of the project, which terminated in August 2017, half a dozen such courses took place, in France, in Austria, in Romania and in Hungary.

The ELICIT+ team feel that they have acquired the know-how and the credentials to offer their courses in 2018 and they are happy to announce the opening of four such courses, eligible to ERASMUS+ KA1 mobility grants and validated with the EUROPASS.

European Literacy and Citizenship Education
