UNESCO Chair in Applied Research for Education in Prison

with No Comments

As part of the renewal of its second four-year mandate (2015-2019), the UNESCO Chair in Applied Research for Education in Prison is calling on all Scientific Committee members and newsletter subscribers to contribute to the overview of correctional education at the international level.

How?

The overview will consist of fact sheets with content based on contributions from researchers, practitioners with recognized expertise and public and parapublic organizations dealing with correctional education in their respective countries.

We hope to gather recent data on correctional education from some fifty different countries around the world. Each fact sheet will include a brief description of a national situation (350 to 700 words) based on the following themes:

  1. Correctional education legislation
  2. Correctional education services and programs
  3. Innovative practices in correctional education
  4. Funding for correctional education
  5. Participation in correctional education activities
  6. Stakeholders in correctional education
  7. Correctional education research
  8. Prison staff training

Therefore, please share any information on correctional education in your country so we can continue pooling and sharing the data with the entire international community by e-mailing it to the UNESCO Chair in Applied Research for Education in Prison here.

You can send your text in the language of your choice or in English or French.
