At a meeting in March, the Steering Committee decided that in light of the precarious situation in Europe and internationally, we will not be organising our biennial conference this year. We appreciate that this may come as a disappointment to many members, but we hope to able to meet in person in 2022.
18th Conference postponed
Every 2 years, the EPEA holds its International Conference in a different European country so that members and non-members can come together to explore topical issues; experience new approaches and innovations, and highlight good practice in the field of prison education.
The EPEA Steering Committee is beginning to plan for the 18th International EPEA Conference to be held in 2021, and is inviting organisations, agencies or institutions interested in hosting this conference to contact us.
The benefits of hosting the conference are many. In addition to enhancing the international reputation of the host organisation, it provides an opportunity to showcase new developments and innovations, to forge international links, and to help shape the future development of prison education across Europe and beyond.
If you are considering hosting the next conference and would like more information, please contact the EPEA Chairperson, Annet Bakker. She will explain what is involved in hosting an EPEA conference and provide guidelines on how to make a successful conference bid.
1. If you are interested in hosting the next conference, please contact Chairperson Annet Bakker at firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
