ICPA Organises a Training Workshop in Cluj-Napoca

The International Corrections and Prisons Association, in collaboration with the National Administration of Penitentiaries – Romania, is delighted to invite you to a four-day training workshop which will take place from 3-6 September, 2018, in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

The theme of the workshop is Proper Reaction Kit for Prison Staff Stress Reduction Through Environmental Therapy: Experiential Learning Workshop.

ABOUT THE EVENT

The aim of this four-day workshop is to develop a stress-reduction and optimal functioning program for correctional staff, based on experiential learning through direct interactions with horses and nature. The workshop introduces a functional model of health-related components that can be optimized or enhanced by direct interactions with animals and nature. The rationale of the model is based on providing each individual a Proper Reaction kit that can be accessed in critical and everyday life situations (e.g. conflict and anger management, work situations, leadership-related issues, family settings, crisis interventions, etc.).

Such an internal resource, once developed and once the individual becomes aware of the ways to access it, it is expected to play a significant role in stress reduction and burnout prevention in staff dealing with critical situations on daily basis, as well as on the correction of potential deviant reactions/behaviors in relation to self and the others.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Prison staff officials working in the individual prisons and at a national level.
