The Portuguese Prison Education Association.

The Portuguese Prison Education Association (APEnP), the Portuguese branch of the EPEA, is pleased to announce its International Congress (see program), a training event for prison educators, which will be held on 02-04 April at the Cinema-Teatro Joaquim d’Almeida in Montijo (near Lisbon) and will once again bring together institutions and experts in the field of prison education from Europe and Africa.

The event, which also celebrates the 50th anniversary of the restoration of freedom and democracy in Portugal, will feature five thematic panels over three days covering a wide range of issues that impact on the prison environment and on teaching practice:

  • Prison Education: Portugal and the international context
  • Adult Education and Training (in prison)
  • Health in prison
  • Projects and research
  • Reintegration

With more than 40 national and international speakers and over 150 participants expected, this event aims to be a privileged space to present and discuss good practices, projects and research, to create moments of reflection, to share knowledge and experiences with a view to a more conscious and sustainable personal and professional enrichment for all those who work/teach in prisons.

Please note that registrations are still open until 22.03.2024. For more information about this event and to register, please visit the APEnP website www.apenp.pt or contact us by email at geral@apenp.pt.
